about

Lucidflow favourite Jon Donson from Switzerland returns to the imprint, following up his last success ‘LaClé’ EP.

Ferus takes its time to unfold, confident in its ability to scoop you up for the duration and pay off in kind. The aforementioned payoff is far from your turgid EDM drop, after painting a landscape of subtle dub chords, dreamy Ultraworld-esque arpeggios float over the final third of the track, shifting gears without garishly redlining.

Accompanying Ferus is Cube. Where the former is dreamy, it slides down the tempo ever so slightly, introducing machine funk and an ever so slight horror chill.

Complimenting the package is a do of remixes. 3am Records boss Al Bradley picks up on the melodic outro of Cube and turns it into the focus, turning in a masterful emotional epic.

And no Lucidflow release is complete without at least one half of Klartraum - Helmut Ebritsch getting in on the action. Accomplished as ever, he tackled the spartan Ferus, broadening the sonic landscape with his excellent staging of audio.
